Spa Alila: A Haven of Wellness
The nature-inspired Spa Alila features two pools with outdoor Japanese hot baths, an outdoor barrel sauna, wooden relaxation decks with ocean and forest views, and two outdoor spa cabanas with massage tables and hammered copper soaking tubs overlooking the redwood forest.
Spa Manager Michael Jastrzebski has curated a range of treatments that blend traditional and modern methods from around the world. The spa's philosophy revolves around creating sensory experiences that encourage inner peace and connection, utilizing products that harness the healing properties of both earth and sea.
“Our massage therapists are obsessed with Body Bliss. It is their number one, go-to brand for therapeutic aromatherapy. They recommend retail products post-treatment, like the CBD Turmeric Joint Formula and Transdermal Magnesium Spray after a Recovery Massage. The Spearmint Rosemary shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are guest favorites in the retail boutique.”
Introducing Our Newest Collaboration
Our new collaboration with Alila Ventana Big Sur is a unique, personalized in-spa bath service designed specifically for couples. This bespoke experience allows guests to choose from four distinct Luxe Bath Burst options—Lavender, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, or Orange—and combine them in a copper soaking tub for two, creating a ritual of togetherness.
As a luxury, all-inclusive spa catering to couples, Alila Ventana Big Sur offers unparalleled opportunities to celebrate milestones in a serene and natural setting. The Luxe Bath Burst couples experience will take place in Alila Ventana's stunning outdoor cabanas, featuring hammered copper soaking tubs overlooking the majestic redwood forest. Following the bath, couples can enjoy massages that incorporate the combined aroma, further enhancing the sensory journey.
Jastrzebski is the visionary behind the new aromatherapy ritual, stressing the spa's commitment to crafting meaningful experiences for couples.
"I wanted our guests to deepen their connection with each other and come together in a symbolic way. Each guest selects one of the four aroma profiles, presented in a beautiful wooden bowl. The couple then pours the Bath Bursts into the tub together, symbolizing unity and creating a custom aromatherapy blend specific to them," said Jastrzebski.
Jeff Winter, a Body Bliss account manager who specializes in new development for luxury resorts and spas, worked with Jastrzebski to create the backbar products, suggesting scents that would resonate with guests, and the intentions behind them. The two met at the 2024 ISPA Conference and made plans to take the Body Bliss/Alina Ventana partnership to new heights.
"The Luxe Bath Burst is designed to enhance the sensory experience—the powder fizzes like a bath bomb using only natural ingredients and pure essential oils, forming fluffy aromatherapy bubbles when poured into the bathtub. The experience leaves guests delighted with their “bubble bath” and their skin feeling silky smooth with its creamy buttermilk and jojoba oil base.”
