What MoCRA Means for Body Bliss and Our Customers

What’s Changing at Body Bliss & Why

You may have noticed some updates to our website, packaging, product labeling, and marketing materials. These changes are part of our compliance with the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) - a set of new FDA regulations that affect how cosmetic products are defined, labeled, and tracked.

If you’d like to dive deeper into the details, you can read more directly from the FDA’s website here.

What this Means for You

While the regulatory details are extensive, here’s what you can expect as we transition:

Streamlined & compliant product verbiage

We’re conducting a full audit of our product labeling, website and marketing materials to ensure we remove any terms that could be interpreted as drug claims (such as references to treating pain, anxiety, or specific health conditions).

Standardized labeling

All packaging will now follow new guidelines regarding ingredients and claims and must also include specific manufacturer or customer information. These rules apply to both Body Bliss Brand and Private Label Products.

Temporary disruptions possible

You may notice some delays or changes in how labels, catalogs, and marketing materials appear during this update. Our website may also reflect ongoing edits as we work through our extensive product catalog.

Simplified collections

To help bring clarity and consistency to our brand, we’re streamlining some of our product lines. This means retiring select items and presenting others in a more cohesive way.

Private Label Support

If you're a private label partner, we’ll be reaching out to ensure your products are fully MoCRA-compliant as well. We’re here to guide you through the transition.

Streamlined & compliant product verbiage explained

One of the most important parts of complying with MoCRA is how we talk about our products. While we’re no longer able to make drug claims—statements that suggest our products treat or prevent specific health conditions—we can still talk about the real, meaningful ways our products support well-being.

We can say:

  • Promotes radiant, healthy-looking skin
  • Helps soften, smooth, or nourish the skin
  • Uplifting, grounding, or refreshing scent experience
  • Supports a sense of calm, clarity, or focus
  • Enhances your self-care or relaxation rituals
We cannot say:
  • Treats acne, eczema, anxiety, or depression
  • Relieves pain or inflammation
  • Reduces stress disorders
  • Balances hormones or affects body systems
  • Prevents illness or disease

Even though we believe deeply in the power of plants, our language must focus on cosmetic and experiential benefits—not medical or therapeutic effects. This helps ensure transparency for customers and full regulatory compliance across our brand and private label offerings. We're always happy to help you frame your product descriptions and marketing content in a way that’s both inspiring and compliant—just reach out!

Thank You for Your Support

We know regulatory updates can sound overwhelming—but we’re committed to making this transition as smooth as possible. These updates help us deliver even higher levels of trust, transparency, and quality. If you have any questions or urgent requests, please reach out to your Account Manager.
