Essential Oil of the Month: Nutmeg
As we enter the month of November and the season of Thanksgiving, warm, spicy, and delicious Nutmeg brings us a myriad benefits for mind, body, and spirits. Its aroma is uplifting to the mind and emotions yet calming to the nervous system, helping to keep moods bright while keeping stress and tension at bay. In fact, it is known to be euphoric and aphrodisiac!
Nutmeg has been used as an analgesic, making a perfect addition to a massage oil, improving circulation, helping relieve sore, tired muscles and joints. For a massage oil, try blending one drop Nutmeg with Lavender, Orange and Ylang ylang. The result will be relaxing, euphoric and ease those achy muscles. For sleep, use one drop Nutmeg with Sweet Orange, Geranium and Ylang ylang in a diffuser (5 drops in total – less is more in aromatherapy!)
