Property Profile: Carmel Valley Ranch
Our partnership with Spa Aiyana at Carmel Valley Ranch is one of our favorites. We love when management has the vision to bring us in at the early stages of a project. Spa Consultant extraordinaire Ann Patton of Savvy Spas and opening spa director Karen McFarlane contacted us long before the spa opening. The goal was to incorporate the amazing lavender fields and other indigenous plants growing around the property to create a truly authentic experience.
“Developing the products for Spa Aiyana was truly a collaborative effort,” recalls Patton. “Because Carmel Valley Ranch has 500 acres of resources from the garden and beehives on property, it was important for us to offer handcrafted products using ingredients native to the area. Body Bliss founder Nick James was on board with our vision and was able to execute it flawlessly.”
“The Quality of Body Bliss product’s along Nick’s creativity was instrumental to the success of our product development,” said McFarlane. “Nick walked the property with “Farmer John” who was in charge of the grounds, and truly listened to what we were trying to accomplish. Nick worked with us to create not only the spa products, but also the menu of services and in-room amenities.”
The spa menu of service is inspired by the need to reflect, meditate, and rejuvenate. It is divided into four quadrants -- like four gardens arranged in formation. A walk through each one evokes different dreams and intentions. Each spa journey begins with a spa sommelier preparing a blend of alchemic essential oils designed to address your needs in the moment. Custom products based on the four gardens are also available for our guests to bring home in the retail boutique.

Lavender Garden
The Lavender Garden is all about relaxation, unwinding and the peace and well-being offered by this beautiful and iconic herb. Using lavender grown on the ranch, as well as lavender varietals from around the globe, we invite you to deeply relax through these beautiful infusions. Product and services are crafted from fresh lavender, local honey, and organic body butters.
Herb Garden
The Herb Garden opens our eyes to the apothecary of days gone by. Fresh herbs and oils are blended to perfection, and their synergy brings renewed vigor and mobility to the body and vitality to the mind. Perfect for before or after any physical activity, or for any body conscious soul.
Aiyana Garden
The Flower Garden is inspired by the spa name ‘Aiyana’ and is about pleasure and beauty, from the inside out. Luxurious floral oils are used to uplift the spirit, to heal and regenerate the skin, and to bring a sense of decadence and delight.
Alchemist’s Garden
The Alchemist’s Garden is intriguing and exotic. Using aromatic oils and botanical extracts from the four corners of the globe, we pair various techniques of touch, intuition and sound to guide you into heightened states of awareness. This garden is designed with the adventurous spirit and the wanderlust in mind.
