Property Profile: Waldorf Astoria Spa at The Boulders
The Boulders features the best of what the Arizona desert has to offer. Our partnership with Spa at the Boulders allows us to showcase many of the botanicals indigenous to the region. Spa Director Ann Patton is a true visionary who has developed and managed dozens of luxury spas across the US. We have developed products and treatments for many of Ann’s spa projects over the years. Working with her is always collaborative and fruitful.
“I met Nick on the plane to the ISPA Conference many years ago, and it was love at first sight,” said Patton. I was working on a new luxury property in Southern California, and was looking for a boutique specialty product that wasn’t everywhere. Body Bliss fit the bill perfectly. Body Bliss always partners with me creatively to bring my vision to life.”
Body Bliss played an integral role in the development of themes, service elements and program direction. Nick and Ann walked the property together brainstorming about blending the amazing indigenous botanicals on the property. Going even deeper, they developed specific intentions for the spa guest based on Eastern Origins, Western Traditions and Global Expressions
DESERT ZEN EXPERIENCES recharge and replenish. Treatments are designed to help guests make the shift from the hectic pace of daily life to a slower, renewing quiet time during their sojourn at The Boulders. Features elegant experiences with a calming, meditative flavor aim to leave guests relaxed, refreshed and inspired. Scents characterized by jasmine, may chang, yuzu, lemongrass and cedar to uplift and to compliment the beautiful Zen interiors of the spa.
GLOBAL SHAMAN EXPERIENCES feature ancient and traditional modalities with a modern twist. Global Shaman Experiences showcase both the richness and variety of healing traditions that have evolved around the world, and the wealth of talent and skills within The Spa at The Boulders’ inspired team of therapists. Scents characterized by a subtle woodsy and herbal blend of blue cypress, vetiver and organic lavenders to calm and ground energy.
“I love that Body Bliss sources botanicals and essential oils from around the world, but always honors the sense of place,” says Patton. I also like that Nick is not hung up on labels like “organic” but rather finding the best solution.
